Working for a Cooperative
Diverge Finance was formed as a cooperative association in the State of Minnesota. Our bylaws state that employees are eligible to become member-owners of the cooperative after 1440 hours of service and 12 months of employment. Once member-owners, each employee has a vote at the cooperative membership annual meeting, helping to elect new cooperative board members and set other important cooperative policies.
Becoming a member-owner of Diverge also has potential financial benefits. Each member-owner of the cooperative is eligible for a proportional share of any dividends the board of directors determines each year. As determined by the board annually, profits of the cooperative may be distributed among the member-owners. Diverge is intentional about shared ownership and shared economic gain for its employees. Our structure is as much in support of our values as is our work with our partner organizations.
