Chris Vanecek

Chris Vanecek (he/him) is a CFO at Diverge Finance. He has worked at various levels of non-profit accounting for the past 10+ years, most recently as the Senior Director of Finance & Administration at Repowered. He has an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Presidio Graduate School. Chris’ passion is helping organizations of all types that are working to make the world a better place use the tools of finance to do even more.

Chris’ favorite part of accounting and finance is using an organization’s financial story to help with strategic planning and decision making. His goal with any organization is to get the basic accounting to a state where it works seamlessly so that the organization has the accurate and timely financial data it needs to make informed decisions while also making compliance as painless as possible. He also has a lot of experience breaking down financials for non-accountants and helping boards see the bigger financial picture. He believes that finance is a language anyone can learn and loves teaching it to new people.

He lives in South Minneapolis with his husband, 2 cats and a dog. He likes to spend as much time as possible outdoors in the summer and cooks and bakes in the winter. Chris is excited to bring his skills to Diverge to help clients find their paths forward.
